Changes to our GP Team

Leaving the Practice…

After 10 years at the practice Dr Catherine Harrison is leaving us to pursue new challenges in the South of France. Catherine joined the practice in October 2009 when Dr Finch retired, and says she is proud of the way the practice has changed and developed since she started.

Catherine and her husband, Scott, are moving to Axat – in the Pyrenees, halfway between Carcassonne and the Spanish boarder. Catherine is continuing her medical career as a GP (albeit in French!) whilst Scott – previously a Director of Architectural Design – is going to set up a Sports Holiday Business incorporating their shared hobbies of Cycling and Triathlon.

Dr Harrison is sorry not to have been able to speak to all her patients about leaving – but says she has every faith that her colleagues will continue to look after her patients in the best possible way.

We wish Catherine and her husband well in their new adventure together – and if anyone wants to follow their escapade she says that she will occasionally update a blog: audelife.wordpress.com

Catherine’s last day at the practice will be Wednesday 24th June.

Joining the Practice…

We are delighted to welcome Dr Rebecca Caruana to the team. Rebecca joined us on 18th May, and has been taking over care of Dr Harrison’s patients.

Dr Caruana qualified from the University of Southampton in 2007. She moved to Mansfield to complete the GP training scheme in 2012.

Rebecca has worked in a number of inner city as well as rural practices, most recently in Lincolnshire. She is delighted to be joining the team at Tuxford Medical Centre.

As a GP her medical interests are in Women’s health, palliative care and medical education.

Rebecca is married with one young daughter. She is a dog lover and enjoys walking. She is musical and enjoys playing the piano and singing.
